  • Paying Your Fare on Marin Transit Just Got Easier! Marin Transit is now single tap. For riders using Clipper, there is no need to tap on/tap off on Marin Transit buses and no risk of overpayment! Learn more here
  • Holiday Service Alert | Independence Day: On July 3 and July 4, 2026, all Marin Transit local bus service will run on a Sunday/Holiday Schedule due to the Independence Day holiday. Click here for the complete Marin Transit Holiday Schedule. Routes 22, 17, 61, and 49 will be affected by detours due to Independence Day events.   • Attend Marin Transit’s Next Board of Directors Meeting: Join us at the next Marin Transit Board of Directors meeting on July 13, 2026. Community members and transit riders are encouraged to attend Board of Directors meetings to stay informed about projects and activities that impact transit service in Marin County. During the meeting, attendees can voice their opinion and participate in the decision-making process. Find complete meeting information on our website.
  • Local Bus Service is Free for all Riders During the Marin County Fair! Marin Transit is bringing back our annual fare promotion offering free local transit rides county-wide on all Marin Transit local buses during the Fair, from July 1 - 5, 2026. Marin Access Paratransit, Marin Access Shuttles, and the Muir Woods Shuttle service are not included in the free fare promotion. Marin Transit will also provide additional service on the Route 35 and the Route 49 each night from Civic Center after the fireworks shows to ensure that riders have a smooth ride home. These trips will board on San Pedro Road near Civic Center Drive and depart around 10:00 PM. Heavy traffic and high parking demand means that transit is your best option to get to and from the Fair!   • Youth Ride Free for Summer: Marin Transit is offering free rides for youth riders (18 & under) from June to August 31, 2026!  Youth aged 5 – 18 can take advantage of this promotion and ride free through the county all summer long. Click here for more information.

  • Golden Gate Bridge, Highway & Transportation District (GGBHTD) | Golden Gate Transit Fare Increase July 1, 2026: On Wednesday, July 1 2026, as part of a five-year fare program, most Golden Gate Transit and Ferry fares increased up to $0.25. Marin local bus fares and Giants Ferry fares did not increase.
