- Marin-Sonoma Coordinated Transit Service (MASCOTS) Plan Launches April 12, 2026 | More Service - Better Connections Along the Highway 101 Corridor: As part of regional coordination efforts, in April 2026, Golden Gate Transit, Marin Transit, and SMART are making service changes to improve connections and coordination between agencies to offer more frequent service for riders. Service changes will be made on Sunday April 12, 2026. - Take Marin Transit’s Bus Stop Survey: Marin Transit wants to hear from you! Share your thoughts on what makes a bus stop comfortable, safe, and easy to use and the features that matter most to you, such as seating, shelter, lighting, accessibility upgrades, and real-time information. Your input will help Marin Transit prioritize investments and plan improvements that best meet the needs of our riders. Whether you ride every day, ride occasionally, or are thinking about riding more, we encourage you to share your perspective. ADA Bus Stop Improvement Project Updates: Marin Transit is committed to ensuring that our bus stops are accessible to all. Following a comprehensive assessment of Marin Transit bus stops in Marin County, our team initiated a project to make improvements at high ridership stops. This month, we’re excited to share that construction at the stops identified for improvements is largely complete. Improvements include:
- A new bus stop serving the Canal neighborhood of San Rafael at East Francisco Boulevard and Medway Road;
- Two new bus stops serving the Marin Community Clinic – Novato Campus Clinics in Novato; and
- The installation of new shelters at 14 Marin Transit bus stops across the County.

- Marin Transit Local 31-Day Passes are Now Available on Clipper! Marin Transit Local 31-Day passes are good for unlimited local rides on both Marin Transit and Golden Gate Transit in Marin County. Marin Transit Local 31-day passes can be purchased online through the Clipper website and/or app, by registering your Clipper card online and purchasing using a credit or debit card. You can reload your Clipper card with cash value, passes or both! Do not dispose of your Clipper card; simply bring it back the next time you plan to purchase a 31-day pass or add cash value! Paper 31-day passes will no longer be sold after March 31, 2026. Paper passes will still be valid for use on Marin Transit and Golden Gate Transit in Marin County through early summer 2026. - SMART | Healdsburg Extension Project: SMART is extending regional passenger rail service northward from Windsor to Healdsburg, reconnecting the city to rail transit. The project will add roughly nine miles of track, construct a new SMART station in Healdsburg, and extend the SMART multi-use pathway for walking and biking alongside the rail corridor. - Transportation Authority of Marin | Measure AA Review: The Transportation Sales Tax Expenditure Plan guides how funds from Measure AA – Marin’s ½-cent transportation sales tax – are spent. The purpose of the review is to ensure that use of the funds reflects current transportation needs, community priorities, and emerging challenges. - Transportation Authority of Marin’s Emergency Ride Home Program: When you walk, bike, carpool, or take transit to work or college in Marin County, the Transportation Authority of Marin’s Emergency Ride Home program will provide you with a ride home when unexpected situations arise. By removing one of the biggest hurdles for commuters, this program offers peace of mind that you won’t be stranded without your car.
