SMS and Voice Calling Terms and Conditions

Marin Transit Arrival Information Service

1. Service Description

Marin Transit provides an automated SMS text messaging and voice calling service that allows riders to request information about bus arrivals and transit service. Riders may text a bus stop number to 415-993-5800 or call 415-993-5800 and follow the automated prompts to receive estimated arrival times and related service information.

The service is intended to provide convenient access to transit information and is not a marketing or promotional messaging program.

2. SMS Text Messaging

By voluntarily sending a bus stop number or other supported request to Marin Transit’s designated SMS number, you consent to receive text message responses related to your request. Responses may include estimated bus arrival times, route information, service availability, or instructions needed to complete your request.

Message frequency varies based on your use of the service. You will generally receive messages only in response to requests you initiate. If Marin Transit offers additional SMS features, such as recurring arrival alerts or service notifications, those features will require a separate enrollment or consent process where applicable.

3. Voice Calling

By calling Marin Transit’s designated arrival information number, you agree to receive automated voice responses related to your request. The system may provide estimated arrival times, route information, menu options, and other transit-related information.

Calls are initiated by the rider. Use of the arrival information service does not authorize Marin Transit to place unsolicited marketing calls to you.

4. Message and Calling Charges

Marin Transit does not charge a separate fee for using the SMS or automated voice arrival information service. Standard message, data, airtime, or calling charges may apply according to your mobile or telephone service provider and your service plan. You are responsible for any charges imposed by your provider.

5. SMS Opt-Out

You may opt out of SMS messages by texting STOP to 415-993-5800. You may receive one confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out. After opting out, you will not receive additional SMS messages from the service unless you reinitiate or re-enroll in accordance with the system’s supported procedures.

To resume SMS service, text START to 415-993-5800, if supported by the system.

6. Help and Customer Support
