  • Marin-Sonoma Coordinated Transit Service (MASCOTS) Plan Launches April 12, 2026 | More Service - Better Connections Along the Highway 101 Corridor: As part of regional coordination efforts, in April 2026, Golden Gate Transit, Marin Transit, and SMART are making service changes to improve connections and coordination between agencies to offer more frequent service for riders. Service changes will be made on Sunday, April 12, 2026. Visit marintransit.gov/april2026changes for information about changes to Marin Transit local bus service.   • FARE FREE DAY | Earth Day: All fares on Marin Transit local buses will be FREE on Earth Day, April 22, 2026. We encourage you to consider using transit on Earth Day and every day, to reduce carbon emissions, save money on gas, and do your part to keep the air clean!
  • Marin Transit Local 31-Day Passes are Now Available on Clipper! Marin Transit Local 31-Day passes are good for unlimited local rides on both Marin Transit and Golden Gate Transit in Marin County. Marin Transit Local 31-day passes can be purchased online through the Clipper website and/or app, by registering your Clipper card online and purchasing using a credit or debit card. You can reload your Clipper card with cash value, passes or both! Do not dispose of your Clipper card; simply bring it back the next time you plan to purchase a 31-day pass or add cash value!   • What About Age Transportation Fair: Are you interested in learning about your transportation options in Marin County? Join us on April 30, 2026, to hear from transit agencies and transportation providers serving Marin County and beyond. During the event you will be able to learn about the transportation options available to you, start the enrollment process for various programs, and sign up for guided field trips on transit.   • Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit (SMART) | SMART Increases Bike Storage Capacity on Board: SMART is piloting a new bike storage layout on one train to increase the number of bicycles that can be accommodated on board. After evaluating several concepts and testing different configurations, the team selected a design that maximizes space while maintaining accessibility. The updated configuration is expected to accommodate approximately five to seven bicycles.
